Differences between posts and pages

In WordPress, there is a clear difference between posts and pages, but it might not be obvious for beginners.

A post is simply a post in a blog. It is an article that is posted into a category, and is often topical and date relative.

A page is a static page on the site that does not get buried in the same way that posts do. Examples can be the About page or Contact Us. A page is not attributed to any categories.

On SEO Tutorials, our pages are listed horizontally under the header image, and the posts vertically to the left.
