My Search Status Plugin update

SearchStatus is a useful plugin for Firefox that I use regularly.

One of the many features is a “show robots.txt” link, which allows you to easily see the robots.txt for a site without having to type it into the address bar. I wanted a similar feature to show the sitemap.xml file for a site, as this is something I look for when auditing sites for SEO, and I’m fed up with having to type it in every time!

Back in August I wrote to Quirk, who developed the plugin and told them of my suggestion, and they have recently released version 1.27 with the retrieve sitemap.xml feature. Therefore this post is just a little note to remind people to download the plugin, as it is very useful! And remember, if a tool you use doesn’t have the features you think it should have, give the developers a shout, as they will often take notice and improve their product.
